M78, an emission nebula in Orion.
This image is a stack of 30 one minute exposures using a 6" f/5 Schmidt-Newtonian telescope.
The exposures were calibrated and stacked and a gradient correction was applied using AIP4WIN.
The gradient correction was necessary due to interference from the rising gibbous moon.
This image has been resampled down from its original size of 1300x1030.
