The Cocoon Nebula - Emission Nebula
Const.: Cygnus
Camera: HX-916 Scope: AP130 Mount: AP1200GTO
Filter(s): L:R:G:B Exposure: 16x2m:8x2m:8x2m:8x2m Color channels binned 2x2
IC5146, the Cocoon Nebula in Cygnus. This color image uses a luminance stack of 16 two minute exposures using a 5" f/6 refractor. It was histogram-shaped and combined with subsampled red, green and blue channels, each of which was a stack of 8 two minute exposures. All image processing was performed using AIP4WIN. This image was balanced using the G2V Color option of AIP4WIN. This image has been resampled down from its original size of 1300x1030.
