The emission nebula NGC3372 in Carina, a.k.a. the Eta Carina Nebula. This image is a stack of 8 two minute exposures through an Hα filter with an SBIG STL11000M CCD camera on a TEC 200FL 8" f/8 refractor. The images were calibrated, stacked and wavelet sharpened using AIP4WIN V2.3.0. This image has been resampled down from its original size of 4008 x 2672.

The emission nebula NGC3372 in Carina, a.k.a. the Eta Carina Nebula. North is to the right in this image. The luminance channel for this image is a stack of 13 two minute exposures using an Hα filter. The same Hα exposure was used for the red channel. A stack of 8 one minute exposures using an OIII filter was used for both the blue and green channels. All images were acquired with an ST-10XME CCD camera through a Tele Vue NP101 4" f/5.4 refractor with a 0.8x focal reducer. The images were calibrated, stacked and color-combined and automatically color-balanced using AIP4WIN V2. This image has been resampled down from its original size of 1092x736.
This image was taken at the Lake Atitlán, Guatemala observatory of Adriana Sherman.

NGC3372, the Eta Carina nebula. The image was taken at the Lake Atitlán, Guatemala observatory of Adriana Sherman on January 14th, 2005. This image is a stack of 16 four minute exposures using an ST-10XME CCD camera with a Hydrogen-alpha filter on a Tele Vue NP-101 101mm f/5.4 apochromatic refractor equipped with a 0.8x focal reducer. The image was calibrated, stacked and enhanced using AIP4WIN.
It has been resampled down from its original size of 2184 x 1472.

Camera: Canon 10D Scope: Tele Vue TV-60is Mount: Vixen Sphinx
Filter(s): none Exposure: 4x4m blank
This color image of the Eta Carina Nebula(NGC3372) was acquired at the Winter Star Party with a Canon 10D Digital SLR camera. It was shot through a Tele Vue TV-60is with a field flattener and is a stack of 4 four-minute exposures that were stacked using AIP4Win V2. There is a slight elongation of the stars, illustrating the effects of atmospheric refraction due to the object's very low altitude.
