Paracorr
This image shows the region around Abell 1264, a cluster of galaxies in Leo. The bright spiral in the center is a foreground galaxy, NGC3686. The image was acquired using a QSI532 CCD camera mounted on a Vixen R200SS, a 200mm f/8 Newtonian reflector equipped with a Tele Vue Paracorr. This image is a stack of 10 eight-minute exposures that were calibrated, defect-corrected and stacked using AIP4Win Version 2. The image has been Sigmoid-scaled to bring out the faint background galaxies without burning out the cores of the brighter foreground galaxies. This image has been resampled down from its original size of 2184x1472.
